Welcome

You have arrived here because you are interested in a better option for your beloved pet when it comes to their grooming routine.  Perhaps your pet is elderly and can no longer tolerate the trip back and forth to the grooming salon or the time they have to spend on their feet. Or your work schedule makes it hard to drop off and pick up during the week. If your dog is dog reactive, a salon may be too much stress on them. Whatever the reason, you have arrived at the right place if your dog needs special handling.

Bark & Brush House Call Grooming was born from a need to care for my own dogs who don't always do well in stressful environments.  And I felt that I could help many others who may be in the same situation. Head over to our Contact Us page if you have looked around and like what you see. I will be happy to discuss a plan of action and options for grooming your pooch!

What is House Call Grooming?

It is a form of mobile grooming as the professional comes to your home. They bring all their tools and equipment to groom your dog in your home (instead of a mobile van or trailer). This includes a professional grade grooming table, and the bathing takes place in your sink or bathtub, depending on the size of your pup. While there is some mess involved in the grooming process, the hair is easily contained and can be vacuumed up.

Benefits:

  • A comfortable, familiar and low-stress environment for your dog.
  • Your pooch and groomer will develop a strong bond which leads to a better experience for all!
  • Transparency with the grooming process.  While it can hinder the groom if the owner is too involved, having someone there that the dog is very bonded with, can help settle them down. It's also convenient to have immediate feedback on the pet's behavior in the moment.

Current Limitations:

  • If your dog is reactive to strangers or grooming tasks, I can provide referrals to a groomer who is better equipped to handle special cases such as this. I currently cannot accept dogs with aggression issues.
  • I am currently limiting clientele to dogs under 30lbs (I will have an option for medium to large breed dogs in the near future).
  • If you do not have a sink or bathtub that will fit your pet, house-call grooming may not work for you.
  • A space with excellent lighting (either via artificial or natural light from windows). If you do not have a space that can safely illuminate the working area, it will make completing the groom difficult (and unsafe).
  • It is essential that the space used for grooming is quiet and distraction free.  If your home frequently has visitors running in and out, or lots of commotion, it may not be a good choice for your dog.
In conclusion, if this sounds like a service you and your pup(s) would prefer over a salon, reach out and I will be happy to learn more about you and your furry family members!
